What each one is
Sudoku — the classic, with five levels: a 4×4 and a 6×6 for beginners, and three 9×9 grids with 40, 32 and 26 clues. It has pencil marks, which stop being optional from medium upwards, and works with the number keys.
Murder sudoku — our Criminoku. You place five suspects on a floor plan without repeating a row or a column, following a set of clues, and whoever ends up alone with the victim is the murderer. It is the genre murdoku puzzles made popular, and the one closest to a classic logic riddle.
Word search — 45 themed grids in three sizes. You mark a word by tapping its first and last letter rather than dragging, which on a phone is the difference between playing and fighting the scroll.
Crossword — 60 crosswords with clues, in three sizes. Hints complete a single word instead of gutting the puzzle, which is what usually happens elsewhere.
Every puzzle verified
It sounds like a minor detail and it is not. Every puzzle on these pages is checked before it is published: the sudokus and the mystery cases have a single solution proven by brute force, the word searches are checked so that every word on the list really is in the grid, and the crosswords so that the crossings agree and no word is left floating without crossing another.
It is the kind of flaw you cannot see by glancing at a puzzle and that ruins the game for whoever attempts it: a word search missing a word, or a sudoku admitting two solutions and forcing you to guess. We would rather publish fewer and have them work.
In the browser, on paper, or in the app
These pages are for a one-off game: you turn up, you play, you leave, with no account and no install. Each game saves your progress in the browser, so you can close the tab and come back later where you left it.
On paper there are the printable puzzles: the same puzzles laid out for A4, with the solutions separate and no ads in the printout. They work well for a classroom, a care home or a journey.
